Alienware x15 and x17 known issues and fixes
Screen Issues
The issue is the intel GPU and the Nvidia GPU interfering with each other. For now until they fix the drivers. Disable the onboard intel GPU with the MUX switch. Go to Bios/Advanced and Disable Hybrid graphics/Advanced Optimus. then disable the intel GPU in windows settings, that fixed it for me. If you don't see the MUX switch setting update to The latest bios and you should see it.
Heating issues
These laptops are designed to get extremely hot up to 100c to get the most performance out of it. Most people are not comfortable with that. So there are Several ways to bring it down. You can set the TCC option in bios between 0-15, 15 will keep you at 85c. There is also throttle stop which is what most people use. The 3rd option is to bring the maximum power to 99% however, this last option will bring down gaming performance 20-30% because it disables turbo boost
