Area-51m, display dim
Hello everyone.
My Area 51m has got a Display problem. It is very dim. When i set the laptop to energy-save and wake it back up is is a little bit brighter, (even at 0) can set the slider to about 8% above that and it dims and flickers a bit.
When it is set to about 8% and the GPU heats up it dims back to "below" 0%.
I ordered a new screen, its still on transit, but the more i try to find about this issue i get the feeling its the GPU? Can that be possible that something like the PWM Module for brightness is burnt out?
Does someone have a solution for that problem or is it still only the screen itself? But if so, why is it temperature related?
i7 9700k
RTX 2080
64GB Ram
144Hz Tobii Screen (FHD)
I tried a complete new installation of Win10 and 11
No Powersaving options
Old Driver, New Driver, official Driver
reseating the cable (on MB site)
New Thermal-paste
Disabling Tobii Eyetracker
Disabling one GPU per Time in device manager
Disabling Screen
Disconneting Tobii Eyetracker from the board
Trying Bios 1.27
Disconneting the camera
i really really hope it is not the GPU, that would be too expensive :(
kind regards

It was the GPU, i baked it starting with 170C and as it was in the oven i set it up until 225C. Let it sit there for a few min and then let it cool down slowly.
After that i built it back in with new paste and it works :).
kind regards
