Area-51m R1, replace main M2 SSD
Alienware Area-51m
I have the SK Hynix BC501 NVMe 256GB SSD and need to replace it with 1TB SSD due to capacity issue. I bought Kingston SNVS1000 PCIe NV1 NVMe M.2 SSD but not able to install Windows as drive not detected and got BSOD. Any advice would be appreciated.

Two options:
1. Change the drive mode from IRST to AHCI in setup (F2 at powerup) or, if you want to keep the drive in RAID/IRST mode,
2. Install the IRST install-mode driver.

Hi @ehachem !
I recommend doing exactly what @ejn63 as he knows his stuff, but I also recommend if you removed the old drive and tried swapping the drive out with the new one in the same slot, it's going to give you a BSOD because there's no OS detected. I recommend using the Microsoft Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to install a fresh OS to fix this issue and add the new drive to the PC.
Here is the link to the download:
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Hi @ehachem ,
I'm highly sorry for replying to your question but it seems you've made a duplicate post!
It's perfectly fine as it was probably accidental but I'm just letting you know.
This is the one I've found with replies as it was made on 08-03-2022 11:45 AM and this one was made before it at 08-03-2022 11:45 AM.

thank you guys for your answer, i have already tried switching to AHCI , I replaced the Sk Hynix 256 with 1TB kingston using PCIe 1 slot and unplugged the 1TB HDD, NVMe was detected but after installing windows 10 pro i've got blue screen error, after i searched for the code i see it's a hardware incompatible problem,

Hi @ehachem !
Did you try using the media creation tool and download it on a USB stick with a minimum of 8gb of space? and did you try booting from it to set windows up on the Kingston as it shouldn't be a hardware issue unless it's a mSATA drive which clearly wouldn't fit at all.
