Area-51m R2, Fortnite keeps crashing

Laptop: Alienware area 51m R2, I7-10700, 2080 super, 16gigs 2933mhz ram, 256 SSD (boot and main games), 1tb HHD (all other games).

Problem: I try to play Fortnite but after about 30 min of playtime it crashes. after it crashes a small notification saying that says " we detected a crash, sorry for the inconvenience" pops up.

Context: When I play Fortnite I obviously don't take up too much ram, my GPU and CPU are around 30 - 60% usage. my GPU temps are from 50 to 70 degrees and my CPU is from 50-75 degrees.

What I tried: I tried reinstalling Fortnite and epic games launcher. I also changed compatibility mode to windows 8 in a file that is listed on the epic games website in an article to fix crashes.

So with this information is there anything I can do to stop crashing.

Games crash a lot nowadays, some possible scenarios that trigger a crash:

  • complex games require good hardware & software so in case you have an old phone/old OS version, you need to upgrade (but in this specific case, you should be warned that your device/firmware is not supported before downloading the game or when trying to launch the game).
  • low memory crashes/clean restarts are usually caused by having low memory (RAM), you should close all the apps in background so the resources are well used only for the game.
  • corrupted profile/hacked builds, you should use only games downloaded from App-Store/Google-Play and don’t try to use saves or hacks because usually, you’ll get a corrupted profile which triggers crashes, de-syncs with the servers.
  • crash bugs, it’s possible that you have found a crash bug if the game crashes in the same place or under specific steps.

Also, each crash generates logs on your phone and you should contact the game’s customer care to see what is the exact problem.

i have brand new hardware that is top of the line. As I said my ram usage is fine as task manager was the only thing open while gaming to see ram usage. Also it is a laptop so I have not downloaded games from google play or apple store.
