Area-51m, ram 2666MHz?
Hi,
I was wondering if my Alienware Area-51m can handle DDR4 at 2666MHz. Currently I'm using 2400MHz but I want more power.

No, Area 51-m cannot handle 2666MHz RAM.
You will have to use 2400MHz RAM.

The answer is yes, it'll run with 2666 MHz RAM, but it's the processor that houses the memory controller, so depending on which CPU you have, you may still see it run at 2400 MHz. Faster RAM will only run at full speed if the CPU supports that speed.

Hi
Whatever you do, whatever you buy - ONLY 2400 in Alienware A-51m R1
Even if you buy the most powerful RAM ONLY 2400.
Of cource you can change RAM and improve tCL, tRCD,tRP & tRAS BUT ONLY 2400.
I have it I know it. No chance in Alenware Area-51m R1.
Let force be with you
Now R2 available,so next year R3 I suppose. So time for chaging.
