I was having this same issue with the Dell Alienware 610M. Updating the firmware (Alienware Command Center > FX > Settings > Update) seems to be the fix.
I just started having this same problem, today - everything was working fine yesterday - buttons work, but cursor won’t move. Restart, doesn’t solve the problem. Unplug or change USB position doesn’t solve the problem.
I am having the same problem for my two alienware AW610m mouse the same problem and the same issues..cursor not moving but can click all the buttons(left click/right click/scroll/scroll click/two buttons on the side). I hope it can resolve fast.

Sometimes happens, I just unplug and replug the usb. If that does not work, have to reboot and that solves it.
