Coffee Lake temperature concerns
Applicable systems = 13 R3, 15 R3/R4, 17 R4/R5, m15, m17
The Coffee Lake processor supports a higher clock rate than Kaby Lake or older processors. That means these systems noticeably generate more heat and fan speed when compared to any previous generation of systems. Because of this, Dell engineering has designed the systems to tolerate higher temperatures. These are working as designed. The new specifications are:
* CPU peak temperature will be less than or equal to (≤) 100 ℃
* When under heavy load, the average temperature for the 13 R3, 15 R3/R4, 17 R4/R5 should be less than or equal to 95℃
* When under heavy load, the average temperature for the m15 and m17 should be less than or equal to 100℃
