Dead pixels?

He there, I'm having and issue with my screen. While I was playing a game (Escape from Tarkov) the game had an issue called screen tearing. After it stopped it seems to have left a permanent line down the side of my screen. I have restarted my laptop that did not fix it. Also did multiple diagnostics test but they don't show any issue with the screen. I looked around on the internet and it came back saying it might be a problem called dead pixels. I'm not entirely sure that's the actually issue or not. I don't know if there is a fix I can do from home or if I have to send it in to get repaired. Some feed back would be much appreciated thank you.

Does the fault show on a screen self-test (hold D through powerup to initiate a set of test screens)?

If yes -- the screen is bad and will need replacement.

If no - you have a hardware issue with the display cable or the mainboard.

I did the test as you recommended and the line is still there. It seems my screen is indeed damaged and I will need to send it in to be repaired. Thank you for your help.
