Laptop not booting from ssd
So, i cloned my HDD to the SSD samsung evo 850 M.2, using AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro Edition, when it finish, i restart the laptop and put it in safe mode. Then i turn off the computer to disconect the HDD and start the SO from the SSD. But a blue screen apear and didnt let me star the SO. so I turn off the laptop conect the HDD again and it start, but from the HDD. So i enter the file explorer and verify if the ssd was efectivly cloned and it was, it had al my files and everything, but did not boot.
then i enter the disk managment and the ssd had the partitions of the OS. an it was the GPT just like the source disk.
What do i do to boot from the ssd? please help me, i ve struggled with this along time!!
- My laptot is an Alienware 15
- BIOS A09 and is in AHCI MODE (i changed this in order to work, but it didnt)
- The HDD is an WD10JPVX
- the SSD is an ssd 850 evo m.2 samsung

If you're just changing from an HDD to SSD, you shouldn't need to use Safe Mode to make the system boot properly. That's not a hardware change that should be causing issues the way switching the SATA mode between AHCI and RAID would. However, restarting the laptop in safe mode AFTER you performed the clone but while still booting from the HDD is pointless.
Try cloning with Macrium Reflect Free. You should be able to perform the clone from within Windows, then shut down the system, swap the drives, and immediately boot again. If not, their bootable Rescue Media (which you should create before performing the clone just in case you need it) includes a Fix Boot Problems function that often addresses things like this. If your disk uses GPT, that means it's booting in UEFI mode, in which case make sure you boot the Rescue Media in UEFI mode as well because the Fix Boot Problems operation works differently depending on how the Rescue Media itself was booted, so you want to boot it the same way you intend to boot your OS.

Thanks for your prompt response, i will try cloning with the software you mentioned, and i´ll create the bootable rescue media.
But i have a question when you say swap the drives, what excatly do you mean?, like physically disconect the HDD from the laptop, and left the SSD? remember that it is an M.2 slot and doesnt fit in the sata connection of the HDD.

Ah ok, sorry I missed that detail. In that case, after you perform the clone, when the system reboots, press the F12 button to access the one-time boot menu and make sure that the system is booting from the SSD. If it does, then you should be able to wipe the source drive at that point, which will prevent accidentally booting from the wrong device going forward.
