M11x R2, safe temperature?
I have and Alienware m11x R2 laptop with 1.2 GHz Intel i3 processor, 8 GB ram, 1 GB Nvidia 330 graphics card, 128 GB SSD. My current idle temperature is around 50°C and under gaming is around 80°C. Is this temperature normal? I run Euro truck simulator 2 on medium settings for gaming. Also haven't cleaned the exhaust vents for a year.

Hi,
Yes, those sound like normal temperatures. If it stays around 80°C while gaming, there shouldn't be a problem. If it were to go above 95°C, there may be an overheating issue.

Thanks for the reply. I'm now using a DIY laptop cooler and I bumped up the CPU fan to 6500 rpm using hwinfo software. So now I'm getting around 60°C while gaming which I think is pretty good. Is there any problem with running the CPU fan at such max speed?

Hi,
Since you are using a third party software, we cannot be sure what effect it will have on the fan long term. However, since you are getting normal temperatures, we do not think it will be a problem.
