M14x R2, Media Card type
Hi, I am trying to ascertain what kind of Media Card the (2nd bottom) slot is for on my M14x R2. Pictured below. I have spoken to Dell Support twice, have spoken to local computer shop who are no slouches. No one can identify what kind of media card fits in this slot?
Looking at pg 4 of spec sheet there are 7 types listed.
• Secure Digital (SD) memory card
• Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) card
• Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) card
• MultiMedia Card (MMC)
• MultiMedia Card plus (MMC+)
• Memory Stick
• Memory Stick PRO
• xD-Picture Card (type - M and type - H)
•
Hi Density-SD (SDHD)
• Hi Capacity-SD (SDHC)
*** Can rule out the SD cards as I already slotted one of those into SD slot.
On advice, I purchased a Micro SD to Memory Stick MS Pro Duo PSP Adapter Dual from eBay for $6 but that is too wide at: Dimension: 32mm x 20mm x 1.6mm(L x W x D)

Hi @vjmandala welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
Product Support did not find Alienware M14 R2.
Looks similar to the Alienware M14x R2's Left side which includes 20 pin MMC.SD.MS/PRO and 9‑in‑1 card reader.

Thanks for clearing that up. That helps.
What kind of 'card' or 'adapter' fits into that '9-in-1' slot?
A brief search doesnt reveal much.

Hi @vjmandala thank you for sharing question about the media 9-in-1 card reader.
Support for Alienware M14x R2 Drivers and Downloads seemingly does not include a driver for the 9‑in‑1 card reader.
Search found SD or Memory Card Reader Does Not Read the SD or Memory Cards | Dell US. Step 3 says Run the memory card reader diagnostic test to verify that there is no hardware issue.
Did not find technical specification for the 9‑in‑1 card reader.

Thanks for your input.
Unfortunately my M14x R2 is running Windows 7. So cant do diagnostics.
But the issue isn't whether my SD is working or not, as you can see in my original picture in original post, I have a fully functioning 128gb SD card in the top slot.
What I would like to be able to do is to purchase a Media Card that would fit into the bottom 9-in-1 slot. The (white MS PRO DUO) card I bought is too big. If anyone knows exactly what kind of media card fits into the 9-in-1, I would be most grateful.
2 phone calls to Dell Tech support and visits to 2 computer repair shops has yielded no solution so far.
I appreciate everyone's effort - and apologies if I have missed a solution above.

* Go to the online M14x R2 drivers page
* The default Operating system is Windows 7, 64-bit
* Click CATEGORY
* Click Show All
* In the Chipset section, download/install the Realtek RTS5128 Card Reader driver
The M14x R2 features a 9-in-1 media card reader which supports the following media card types =
SD (Secure Digital) memory card
SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) card
SDXC (Secure Digital Extended Capacity) card
MMC (MultiMedia Card)
MMC+ (MultiMedia Card plus)
Memory Stick
Memory Stick PRO
xD-Picture Card (type - M and type - H)
SDHD Hi Density
SDHC Hi Capacity

Thank you for you input and for driver link Chris.
I do understand now that it is a 9-in-1 slot, but I am still very confused as to what kind of actual media card do I purchase to put into the 9-in-1 slot (see attached in red writing)?

I cannot edit my above comment. I guess what I am really asking is which one/s of the cards listed below will fit into 2nd slot pictured? That's all I have been asking the whole time. It's definitely not the MS Pro Duo or even the SD cards..
SD (Secure Digital) memory card
SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) card
SDXC (Secure Digital Extended Capacity) card
MMC (MultiMedia Card)
MMC+ (MultiMedia Card plus)
Memory Stick
Memory Stick PRO
xD-Picture Card (type - M and type - H)
SDHD Hi Density
SDHC Hi Capacity

Hi, I noticed the community has said this was resolved above. With all due respect to you support, I still am no farther in know what exact card fits into the smaller slot. I realise it lists a whole bunch of cards, but which one fits the smaller bottom slot.

Also, I tried installing the driver you recommended. Unfortunately an Error. Here is log..

I am still trying to ascertain what kind of Media Card fits in the slot of my M14x R2.
I had spoken to Dell Support by phone twice; had spoken to local computer shop dudes, who are no slouches! Even within the post above no one could explicitly say 'this is the Media Card you need for bottom slot'.
I still dont know what kind of Media Card to get. The top SD Media Card and slot works just fine, so I dont think drivers are the issue here.
Looking at pg 4 of M14x R2 spec sheet there are these types of media cards listed:
• Secure Digital (SD) memory card
• Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) card
• Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) card
• MultiMedia Card (MMC)
• MultiMedia Card plus (MMC+)
• Memory Stick
• Memory Stick PRO
• xD-Picture Card (type - M and type - H)
• Hi Density-SD (SDHD)
• Hi Capacity-SD (SDHC)
*** Can rule out the SD card as I already have one of those in top SD slot - see pic above.
What kind of media card (from list above) fits into the bottom slot of the '9-in-1' Media Card reader, please?

Hi @DELL-Chris M thank you for sharing download/install the Realtek RTS5128 Card Reader driver.
However the Realtek RTS5128 Card Reader Driver is not compatible with Alienware M14x R2 with Windows 7, 64-bit. See following image. Source Realtek RTS5128 Card Reader Driver | Driver Details | Dell US.
Realtek* Card Reader Driver for Windows® 10 & Windows 11* for several Intel® NUC Product Families. Please run Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to automatically detect updates.
