M15 might be completely broken, need serious help
My m15 won’t turn on at all, it’s stuck in a limbo of attempting to turn on the keyboard lights up and so does the screen occasionally (although still black), it does this for a few seconds before everything shuts off again. The fans also whorl for a few seconds too.
before this power has been cut off from it while performing bios updates twice. The updates wouldn’t progress so I was attempting to restart them but now nothing turns on.
I asked for help on Reddit too and they’re saying that my computer is completely broken, please help anyway you can I really don’t want to have to get a new one

Start with a firmware recovery.

@ejn63 I tried the instructions, it was actually able to turn on the screen and I attempted to recover the bios but when I do it gives me an error stating “BIOS update blocked due to unsupported downgrade” after that it goes back to the limbo thing again

Are you using the latest update for whatever model you have?

@ejn63 I really don’t know, besides the recovery screen I can’t access my computer whatsoever. I’ve tried all three options, recover reload and rollback, they all lead to the same outcome

If you're getting to the recovery screen, chances are the issue is with your boot drive, not the firmware. Have you tried to see if the system will POST to a setup screen with the boot drive removed?

Use the service tag of the system to look up the service manual at dell.com/support. It'll have instructions for removing the drive.

@Tttkek
There are 7 m15 models, which is why our users need you to identify the specific one.

It seems mine m15 R6 alsosuffering this after a bios update on 01/19 , it was working until battery consumed, Once the battery was 0%, it did not powered on anymore and presents symptoms similar to the ones described by Tttkek. So, it was either the bios update or is the power source, I am yet investigating, unfortunately my warranty is ended and DEll support could not help. Any advice is welcome,
Leo
