m15 R1, D drive not showing in Windows
I need help figuring out whether its corrupted and unusable or if its recoverable with or without the data that was on it. I've checked the manage storage> rescan storage devices and it doesn't show up. I've seen other forums talking about BIOS but not sure how to get there or what to look for when in the BIOS menu. My device says its out of warranty (the 15 month warranty expired on September 12, 2020) never needed until now and the price for a new hard drive is the same as resubscribing the warranty. If I need a new hard drive I'd rather just get a new hard drive and forget the warranty.

Diagnostic didn't show the drive so I unplugged and replugged the drive and it worked

Hi @SirCornmeal its probably just lost its drive letter. Search for Partition Manager to open Win10 Disk Management. You should see your missing data drive as Disk 1 and that it has lost its drive letter. Click on drive and assign a letter (D:). Your data drive will now be acknowledged in This PC. The data on your drive should not have changed. If this data drive keeps getting lost, assign a higher letter (H:).

The Dell diagnostics (F12 at powerup) are a good starting point.
