m15 R1, speakers fuzzy/muted/not working, SR's keep getting closed

3 month old m15 r1. When I first got it I thought it just had really poor quality speakers with the random Windows sounds, but usually have it plugged into external speakers at home. Did some traveling over the last month and once I was actually relying on them for gaming and took a closer listen, it became apparent something was not right. Muted, fuzzy on the LH side and the RH seems totally dead other than random popping sounds. Everything is updated. I tried opening a support request 3 times now and hear nothing, after a few days it gets closed. Anyone else ran into this?
