m15 R2, AWCC not working again!

Recently, I can no longer change the fan speed on the AWCC (Alienware Command Center) software, the logos (thermal and overclock) go round and round indefinitely. I've tried to completely uninstall AWCC via the Dell tutorial (deleting all residual files in %appdata%, programfiles etc), and reinstalling the latest version on Dell support 5.5.48.0. The new version 6.0 is seems not available for my Alienware m15 R2.

But I'm still having the same issue (logos spinning endlessly). Also, it now says "available systems" at the top in a green box, but I just can't install the update: when I click on it, I have the message "incoming update involves firmware and requires system to be plugged in with power". I specify that my PC is plugged in, of course.

So I called Dell technical support, and after 5 call transfers to different departments, I get someone who apparently doesn't even know the AWCC software and asks me to spell it out. This person told me she will transfer me to the software team, but finally after 5 minutes, the same person takes the line again and asks me "the software team is asking me if you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling AWCC". I've literally said this 5 times in a row on every call transfer. After my positive answer, she tells me that the service will cost 60 euros, even though the problem stems from a software fault in the AWCC software, which they literally force us to use since the other fan speed control software doesn't work.

I've had this m15 R2 for 3 years and the AWCC software and fan management is just catastrophic. In 3 years, I've had one motherboard replacement and two fan system replacements. Each time, an AWCC update disrupted the proper functioning of the latter after a few months, even though my PC is used almost exclusively for office work and some very lite games and is always placed on an upright desk.

Could someone competent please help me?
