m15 R3, have a problem with my keyboard

The keyboard on my new Alienware m15 R3 laptop isn't working. I really need a quick fix as soon as possible. Please tell me how I can fix this or where I should go to fix this? I do not know the issue with it even after troubleshooting and restarting the entire laptop. It would be great if you could give me an advice on what I should do.

I have same problem. My keyboard did not working.Backlight are working but not seeng in Comand center application.

I do this things:

"Recently I had problems with my Alienware, a key that was not working properly. I contacted the Technical Support and they sent me these steps that solved my problems. I`m sharing to help others with this issue:

  1. Please test the computer with an external USB keyboard.
Is the external keyboard working fine on your computer?

  2. Please download and install the newest BIOS version. I have prepared a link for you, where you can download it:
    http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukbsdt1/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=FW7G9
Please double-click on the downloaded file and follow the instructions.

  3. Please try to perform the power drain
    - Turn off the computer and disconnect all external peripherals (AC adapter, battery, external monitor, external keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.). You can see how to disconnect the battery cable from the system board here:
    http://www.dell.com/support/manuals/uk/en/ukbsdt1/alienware-15-laptop/alienware-15-r3-service-manual/procedure?guid=guid-5ed51a07-0cdc-41e4-9f46-febe989a15ed&lang=en-us
    - Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds
    - Connect the battery and AC adapter back to the computer and turn it on

  4. While the base cover is removed, you can also try to reseat the keyboard cable"

But it did not help.

I did downgrade BIOS and press Ctrl-ESC for it before I turn ON the laptop and it worked.

Also works FN-F2(Air Mode) and Fn-F11(T-pad). So i think that is a problem with MCU board of keyboard.

I tried to install Keyboard Firmware Update Utility but it message me "Failed to find device".

How else to update the keyboard controller firmware?

Someone from Dell support told me that this is due to a recent Dell update and is happening to everyone. The support person is currently trying to fix my keyboard.

I am having the same problem a few keys on my keyboard stopped working.

did they ever get the fix for this. I do not use my laptop very much anymore but a month before the warrantee expired i was getting a ram error (due to another update of Dells) i had the technician check my whole system and he updated my bios and drivers. a month later I noticed the 4 key stoped working and then my f key stopped.

I just checked and found a more recent bios update so i updated it but did not fix it.

anyone have a fix for this
