m15 R5, charger breaking
So the charger that came with my M15 Ryzen R5 is coming apart with wires exposed. Safe to wrap it in a bunch of electrical tape? Seems like this is a common issue with Alienware cords. And the Dell replacement is expensive. <Profanity is never allowed on our Forum. DELL-Admin> Anyone else encountered this? What did y'all do?

It depends on whether you decide to risk damaging a $500+ mainboard for the sake of a $130 adapter.

Re: Anyone else encountered this? What did y'all do?
I found that when the power adapter was exposed in extreme cold weather, the plastic rubber sleeve became harden and cracked at the joints where it being wiggled or bent the most. That could be the case happened to some users.
As mentioned by ejn63, you do not want to take the risk to damage your system board for the sake of $130 adapter. You can also look into some older, yet compatible Dell power adapter that can be sourced at a lot lower cost (check your email for my initial post).
