m15 R6, BIOS update every month?
I have an Alienware m15 R6 for about eight months and there seems to be a Bios update every month or so. Is this normal? I only ask because previously I have an Apple Mac and there was only two firmware updates in seven years. The last Bios update for my Alienware soft bricked my laptop and I am always hesitant of updating. I can understand if they are critical, but is there a way to turn off the updates unless critical?

Hi @slamm welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
There is no requirement to install any BIOS update unless a new feature is required by one of your applications. Of all the Dell updates, the BIOS update shall be installed according to very specific instructions. Never try and install the BIOS update over the internet, always download the BIOS file. There is conjecture about critical BIOS updates, disabling Intel CPU features may not be wanted by the user.
Notifications of a BIOS update give the user the option to manually install the BIOS file, it should never be allowed to install automatically. how to disable Dell Updates? - Dell Community

Hi @crimsom
Thanks for your response and welcome.
I have actually been downloading the BIOS file, but the one time it bricked it, it kept trying to re-install and wouldn't boot up the OS. Had to get Dell Support to fix.
I'll take your advice and switch off the Dell updates. Thanks !
