m15 R6, won't turn on

I left my m16 r4 laptop on yesterday for a litte while and when I came back to it the screen was black and it wouldn't turn on. The alien button was blue when it was plugged in and yellow when not connected. I've called customer support and they walked me through pressing the button for 10-15 seconds while unplugged then connecting the cable and trying to turn it on but that did nothing, they then told me I'd have to send it to get fixed but I don't want to do that unless I've exhausted all other options. Is there anything else I can try? They said it might be an issue with the motherboard but I've seen people online mention that disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cables could work, but I'm not sure how to do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really don't want to send it away unless nothing else works.

The black screen issue was most likely a failure to wake from sleep. The power button indications of blue on AC and amber on battery are normal.

The Blinking red is an indication that the battery is discharged. Ensure that you connected the cable correctly when you reconnected the battery cable.

I managed to disconnect the cable from the battery and reconnected it, that seemed to do the trick.

There is another problem, it will turn in now but the button is blinking red and if I unplug the adaptor the computer immediately turns off and will not turn on unless it is plugged in.

@DELL-Donald K I made sure to reconnect the cable properly and that fixed it, thanks for your help.
