m16 R1, gaming laptop worth it
I am looking to buy a new laptop. If I have a Nvidia RTX 4080 added to the configuration, will it cause overheating in an Alienware m16 R1? I have an XPS that is constantly overheating and crashing my system. I need the graphics primarily for photography. Is this a good choice?

This is a hard question to answer because "worth" is something that is personal aspect and your budget.
But since you are planning to use it for photography, assuming using Lightroom and Photoshop I would recommend getting the Intel version because Adobe is still leaning towards faster cores than having lots of cores.
Depending how much layers you do I would at least start off with 32GB models.
GPU isn't much a concern with Lighroom or Photoshop so that will just depends on your budget and other usage.
