m16 R1, no hypervisors working on my Alienware, bug?

Hi, I have been using my m16 for a year with WSL2 and VMWare Player. But since last week, I am unable to do it. My working computer hung and rebooted, but Windows 11 didn't start. I did a clean install using SupportAssist Recovery and tried WSL again, as soon as I enable Virtual Machine Platform in Control Panel and restart, my system shuts down and never boots back again. I thought the issue was with WSL only (and referred to this https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/issues/4784), but the same happened when I started using VMWare Player. VMWare Player doesn't prevent system from booting, but when the VM starts, the system hangs and then restarts.

I have tried to toggle on and off Intel VT-X and DMA in BIOS, nothing seems to work. This is blocking my work now! Any pointers on how to fix this?

Here's my system config:

- Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.3958)

- Intel 13900HX

- Nvidia 4080

It was a BIOS issue. I had anticipated it, because my laptop started running into this issue after I updated the BIOS.

The issue was fixed in BIOS update 1.20.0.

Hi @metamemelord

Can you confirm if the same laptop (M16 R1) that is currently on version 1.17.0 from 11/04/2024, which has the following issues (blue screen, freezes, hardware not recognized), has been fixed in version 1.20.0?

Thank you for your help
