M17x R4, motherboard replaced, AlienFX problem

Alienware M17x R4

Alienware M17x R4

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum, I just replaced the motherboard of my alien (the old one made the famous 7 beeps of death). Basically with the new motherboard the alien FX doesn't work anymore, whatever operating system you install doesn't change anything. I have the latest bios available for my laptop and have tried reinstalling the command center several times.

I have version 2.8.8.0 of awcc, net framework installed and visual c++,  I tried to do the test of the command center and I noticed that it does not see neither the software version nor the card.

Does anyone know what I can do?

 Rascard,

To receive assistance from Dell support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private Service Tag and all of your troubleshooting.

I've seen this happen before but I can't quite remember the solution. I'll try to have a look through some old posts.

Is there a service tag listed for the new motherboard? You should be able to see it in the BIOS but often with replacement boards the tag is missing. It's possible that if it's missing this then that could be part of the problem. Don't post your Service Tag here if you do have one.

What does the screen look like when you open AlienFX?

There's also a chance that the AlienFX chip on the new board is faulty.
