M18x R2, can't have iGPU & dGPU active at the same time

Hey, it seems that I cannot activate Hybrid graphics? I can only switch between my dGPU GTX 660m and the iGPU Intel Graphics. Also I cant find the Hybrid Graphics option in the BIOS.

Is that normal and I am mistaken this with older devices or did I something wrong?

Both GPUs have their driver installed. I used Fn + F7 to switch them. Would like to have both active at the same time though.

Thanks in advance.

This system does have the ability to switch (using firmware) but does not support hybrid (Optimus) operation.

It's one or the other - not a hybrid of the two GPUs.

If you have dual 660M's in your R2 then you cannot have Optimus. It is not possible to run SLI or Crossfire GPU's with Optimus in this laptop.

If you only have a single 660M installed then you can have Optimus. You will need to find and flash the Unlocked system BIOS. This opens up the hidden option to change the Video mode from PEG or iGFX to SG (switchable graphics).

I have to run Optimus in my M18x R2 with the GTX 1070. Unfortunately, this card is not able to run in PEG mode in the R2.

As usual, you flash a BIOS or mess with BIOS settings at your own risk.
