The system supports PCIe 3X4, so it's the limiting factor -- not the drive (that drive is PCIe 4 X4 capable).

If you're looking to add storage, any PCIe 3X4 or 4X4 drive will work, but if you're looking for faster performance, you won't find it even with a newer drive.


The WD Black drives are excellent -- so too are the Samsung 990 drives.
