x14 R1, noisy fan

I got my laptop less than 2 months ago and from the beginning I noticed the fan being very noisy for no reason (always noisy while gaming, sometimes noisy while idle).

Unfortunately, I was too busy to return the laptop during the 30 day period so now I am stuck with a defective machine that was very expensive, which is very frustrating.

Today, I finally decided to call support and face the issue. Now, after almost 1 hour with a technician on the phone, the problem was not solved and a visit was scheduled for parts to be replaced.

Am I the only unlucky person to have this experience with an Alienware x14 R1 and if anyone has had the same issue how was it resolved?

Thanks and sorry if my message was not as positive or neutral, I am just very disappointed.

Unfortunately no. But I can share what happened: basically dell customer services and technicians just escalated the fan issue into a keyboard issue without even solving the fan issue. Then, I complained about this experience in some of Dell social media and then they messaged me and quickly arranged that my laptop be replaced by a new one. However, it was replaced by the same model, same specs. Guess what? Still noisy. So I assume that this model is indeed just very noisy which surprises me to think that Dell would sell something with this performance. All the technicians that came over, all of them agreed that the fan noise was way too much. Not one of them said: "this model is actually noisy, unfortunately nothing can be done". So I basically gave up and I'll stick to the bad decision of buying this laptop and unfortunately I'll avoid this brand for my next laptop purchase. I have always been a Dell costumer, in Canada, and in my home country. So it's very disappointing. The whole experience

Hi @netoprax welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Having intentionally not used the first 30 day Reject option, the basic Dell warranty is automatically activated. Support for Alienware 14 Contact Technical Support can be used to report problems during Dell warranty. Evidently Dell warranty is now trying to fix the issue, so this support function is working.

The root cause of the noisy Alienware 14 is not shared in the original post, so it is difficult for any user to respond to "if anyone has had the same issue how was it resolved?".

That is right, since the technician was not able to identify the cause of the issue, I decided to post here and see if anyone has had a similar issue and found the root cause so I could try a similar solution.

From my point of view, I described what I can see which is a noisy fan even when I am using the laptop is being used just to check emails, for example. Yesterday, the technician noticed the fans at 50-60% when the laptop is 'barely being used', and constantly at 100% as soon as I open a game.

I believe the technician tested all 'software-related' causes and concluded they were not the issue. He scheduled a visit to change the fans, however it is clear that this might not solve the problem so that is why I am seeking assistance here, in case anyone experience the same problem.

thank you,

Did this ever get fixed? I have the same problem with the same model laptop I bought a month ago.
