x14 R2, Touchpad not working

Hi all, hope you're well!

I have posted previously about this laptop, however now have a new issue!

I bought an x14 r2 and it wouldn't find a bootable device. I then acquired another spares and repairs x14 where the screen was completely smashed, hoping to be able to pull parts from it to fix the issues.
I have now got the laptop up and running, she runs quite quickly for the age with a brand new ssd, new thermal paste applied and every single wire has been checked and replaced where needed (some were very frayed and explain a lot of why it didnt work previously).
She runs hot, which I assume is normal for the age. CPU runs at 49 degrees C at idol and I've stopped it and turned it off immediately at 89 degrees when my daughter tried Roblox. It is on a cooler which is externally powered.

My one major annoyance now is the trackpad and two lights at the front at the bottom. These didn't work after my rebuild, I assumed it was faulty. I plugged in a mouse and didn't really think much of it. I did have cause to take it apart to check on the wifi card, so thought id check on the trackpad whilst i had it apart. I discovered where the main tape connected to the motherboard the connection was completely frayed. Must have missed it.
I replaced this entire section out with the spares/repairs one, and this has brought power back to the trackpad and it now lights up along with the front two lights. The trackpad itself however does not work still even with everything changed.

I've checked device manager and cannot see it there, I believe it should appear as Synaptic, but I have nothing with this name there.
i've tried to install Support Assist and it says it is doing an update and try again later. I've obviously done a new build and the ssd has a fresh install of windows so has no alienware software installed.

Can anyone shed any light? Or am i destined to live with the physical mouse via USB?
