x15 R1 video playback problems, 2nd laptop change

Hi there,

Just checking if someone else is having issues with video playback problems while watching videos on any site and any browser. Distortions will suddenly appear while watching videos, and the only way to sort them is to restart the laptop.

This is already the 2nd x15 R1 replacement. The first one had keyboard and video issues. This new laptop has 1 week. This situation with Dell has been horrible. I've had 5 replacements in 1 year. Two R3, one R4, and now two x15 R1. Battery problems, screen quality issues, and now persistent problems with the new generation laptops. How is it possible on a $2800 USD laptop?

The laptop is 100% up to date on all drivers and Windows. Running on Windows 11. Had the same issue on the first x15 R1 running on Windows 10.

Support has no clue why is this happening, they would rather solve it the easy way with a new replacement.

Thank you everyone!

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I already have an open case with Alienware support. Thank, you. Waiting to see if someone else here has the same issue.

I resolved the issue on my end. I just disabled the integrated gpu in bios. I have windows 11 which is known for this issue since it so new. I am assuming Since the signal is running through the integrated gpu then the Nvidia gpu that the 2 drivers are interfering with each other and causing video distortions maybe because the drivers for the integrated gpu are just not there yet with windows 11.

Interesting, I had the same issue with Windows 10 before on the previous x15 r1 replacement. What do you think?
