x17 R1, super weird slowness / lagging when starting

Alienware x17 R1

Alienware x17 R1

This issue first happened on the last week of my warranty expiration and I got some technical support to resolve this the first time. The diagnosis has been included and solved the issue on step 4 which is not updating but just reinstalling flash the BIOS. But this issue keeps happening randomly. Generally, a situation I used this laptop for working and not using it during the weekends. When I am using this on Monday morning, there is a 50% chance the laggy and slowness happening. There are only a few software installed on this laptop. I have to re-install the BIOS to solve this problem. I just want to know what may cause this issue and how to solve it permanently.

These are the steps I went through and all of the first 3 steps are thriving while the laptop is lagging.

1. Please run the SFC scan

Search for " cmd " on the search bar on the toolbar
Open a Command Prompt with admin rights by right-clicking the Windows button and
Select Command Prompt (Admin).
Enter administrator credentials when prompted.
Type " sfc /scannow " at the Command Prompt
Press Enter to run a full system scan
The system file checker utility checks the integrity of Windows system files and repairs them if required.
After the process is complete, reboot the computer.

2. Set the unit BIOS defaults

Completely shut down the unit with no LED lights or fan spin
To check the BIOS, press and hold the " F2" Key.
While pressing and holding the " F2 " Key, tap on the power button once.
You can release the " F2 " key once you see a Display on the screen with BIOS
Press the up-and-down arrow keys or use the mouse and select Load Defaults.
Press. [ENTER] Select Yes.
Open the “General” section and review each setting under Boot Sequence, and Advanced Boot Option to ensure they are correctly configured. Save any changes.
Open the System Configuration section and review each setting under SATA Operations and Drives to ensure they are configured correctly. Save any changes.
Press [Esc] or select Exit. If prompted "Are you sure you want to exit?" Select Yes.
Restart the computer to reset settings to default effectively.

3. Please run an ePSA Diagnostic Test

Completely shut down the unit with no LED lights or fan spin
To run the test you have to press and hold the " Fn " Key.
While pressing and holding the " Fn " Key, tap on the power button once.
You can release the " Fn " key once you see a Display on the screen with ePSA Test.
Capture the error code if any.

4. Update the drivers and BIOS click on the check for updates icon:

Hi @luysy007 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Please try to improve/debug the Windows operating system using my Windows PowerShell post in Re: Alienware m17 R3. Screen flickering and occasionally going black whilst awake - Dell Community.

I don't think this is referring to this Screen flickering and going black. The issue is super laggy while the resource manager shows resource usage is very low and nothing is running.

Hi @luysy007 thank you for your observation. The link goes to a generic process to improve/debug the windows operating system. Please run windows Reliability Monitor and wait for event timeline to be created. How to use Windows Reliability Monitor to identify software issues | Dell US.

The key issue would be when the machine run smoothly, there isn't any issue. Only when suddenly lagging, then it is extremely hard to open anything in Windows. The one approved solution is flesh the BIOS with the installation package I downloaded when Dell. I don't think this would be an OS issue.
