x17 R2, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FPS

Hello all,

I am having an issue with my GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16GB RAM graphics card. Whenever I play Skyrim, I am lucky to get 40 fps with consistent stuttering whenever moving. The fps consistently fluctuates between 20-40 and is only above 40 when my character is not moving. I have changed in game settings from low to ultra and back, with the same results. Constant stuttering during movement and low fps. I have loaded the game with and without mods enabled, and the fps remains the same. I also changed settings within the NVIDIA control panel, with no significant results. This includes GSync, VSync, prioritizing NVIDIA over integrated graphics, etc. I installed the latest GeForce GameReady Drivers and no significant changes. I believe doing so enabled 50 fps to be occasionally breached, but still consistent dips to 20-25, on both low and ultra settings.
For comparison, I have another laptop with a GTX 1080 (maybe 6GB but could be 4GB RAM) and it runs the same game at 58 fps (capped at 60 through control panel) with no stuttering.

steps I’ve already done:

Uninstall then reinstall graphics drivers

install drivers from NVIDIA

adjust control panel settings

My PC is an Alienware x17 r2

12th gen Intel i9 12900HK processor, and 64 GB RAM.

I would appreciate any advice that would help resolve this low fps and stuttering issue before I return this laptop to go back to console gaming.

Thank you
