Avamar RMAN + Parallel Local RMAN

Is this feasible?  Expectedly, a number of DBAs do not trust solely the Avamar and would like to back up locally as well with the idea being if they need to quickly restore the most recent backup, it's on hand as opposed to needing to submit a request to the O&M team to do so.  We actively do this on the SQL Server side today and the only limitation I'd read previously re: Oracle was more between mixing DD and Avamar for the same backup chain.
