A few months ago someone asked a similar question and the Avamar Product Management team responded with the following:-

"We used to support the customization of the Avamar web pages but I would indicate that this is no longer supported. Besides the technical issues, there are also legal issues for removing the EMC and Avamar logos from the Avamar product."

Do you mean just graphically? I've installed about 100 clients so far and feel like I've seen almost every error out there.

Hi,

Starting from ver.4 the installer is a simple MSI package that allows customization and creating transforms (in this case trasforms are AFAIK useless as no UI and options are present) files by 3rd party MSI tools. However, a knowledge of (re)building of MSI packages is needed.

Another option is to investigate the command-line options of the avagent.exe. For inspiration you might review the avregister.bat file. The avamar client is "unix-based," so most (if not all) options can be set from command line/batch file/login script/remote shell

I have a couple questions:
1- we have a client installed¿ and at a later date the computer and possibly IP address change.

a. Do we have to reinstall client? Or just reregister the client as new name?

b. since the data was initially put down in the grid with old name. does this mean a full backup copy will be initiated under new name

c. Then on possible restore ¿ would this be considered a redirected restore using old name then new.

2- when adding new client- cant I just move it into an existing group and it will take on all the policy configurations? We were told to start at the policy and begin adding . seemed like redundant processes
