DB2 backup fails with SQL2428N error.

Question

Hello  I am using Avamar 7.1. Our daily schedule online db2 database backups are failing to Avamar with 'SQL2428N The BACKUP did not complete because one or more of the requested log files could not be retrieved.' A thread here suggested below Set in the option/flagfile the following variable:   --fallback-mins-search=How_many_minutes_ago_avdb2_will_look_for_archivelogs   Note: if the archivelog DB2 needs was done 4 hours ago then the variable can be set to 5 hours ago   --fallback-mins-search=300 Where do I set the option? I am facing the same issue and when entered that as free form in the GUI for backup it fails with invalid flag.   Any help is appreciated Thanks

This flag can be set into avdb2.cmd under the avs/var directory.

I saw this issue when the log is set to archive automatically. Once the log is backed up, it will be removed from DB2 server. When an online backup is taken, it will retrieve the logs from Avamar. For some reasons, DB2 takes too much time to retrieve the logs and it will result in this issue.

A workaround will be to turn off the log exit.

Yes. The online backup will include the archive logs as well. --Beta

I have edited the avdb2.cmd file and added --Beta and the back fails with Invalid flag error. Thanks Majeti
