Event Data - proxyNotFound Proxy does not belong to vCenter

Hello,

I am curious whether anyone has run into this issue before.

Two proxies in remote offices are unable to process backup jobs.

Clients fail with the same error message because proxy was not found, as can been seen in the following sequence of screenshots:

Group backup request initiating...

Event Information:

Event Code: 30931

Category: APPLICATION

Severity: PROCESS

Summary: Failed to initiate virtual machine backup or restore.

Group backup request initiated.

Clicking View Details shows more information, but look at the Key and Value section..

2_Avamar_Proxy_Event_Details.png

Message: Proxy does not belong to vCenter followed by the name of the vCenter server.

I tried to reboot the proxy, shutdown the proxy, re-register the proxy, disable/enable data set, remove proxy then add it again.

Not sure what else to do other than redeploying the proxy, which I can do but would rather not due to slow WAN links..

I am thankful for any tips.

I redeployed the proxy and it fixed the problem..

I was just hoping not to redeploy the proxy.

I would recommend opening a service request for this issue.

I did not want to redeploy my v-Proxies either. Following the below steps I was able to re-register my v-Proxies instead of redeploying.

  1.  Log in as user root and password – avam@r
  2.  Run the command /usr/local/avamarclient/etc/initproxyappliance.sh start
  3.  Provide the Avamar FQDN
  4.  Provide the domain to register the proxy
