Client Restore function

Running Avamar 6.0 here. Rolled out to about 1.5k individuals.

Some clients are unable to click the Avamar icon to launch the browser restore function, nothing happens when selected. We have confirmed that the PC is performing backups, the server and the client on PC can both see that the backups are preforming.

When manually entering the server name/path the other clients go to it says the session has expired.

Oddly enough, other PC's have somehow fixed themselves. Nothing was changed on the user side, but all of the sudden the user was able to pull up the restore web page.

I get this when typing in the server path, since the icon does not launch.

Troubleshooting steps already taken:

-Uninstall reinstall

-Deleted client, then re-added on server/and client side

-Reset all default settings in browser

-Tried multiple browsers

-New profile on system (thinking something was corrupt)

-Machine is able to ping and communicate with server

-Security settings are the same as the other 2k+ systems

Any ideas?

Is DTLT configured on the GRID? If not, refer to avamar administration guide on how to configure it.

Client is activated and is already running backups, the only reference i see to grids in the admin guide seems irrelevant?

Am i miss understanding?

If DTLT is configured. I have seen something similiar, if not the exact same thing. I found an error message in the console log referencing a avscc error message. "Failed getting browser command from the registry. Failed to look up HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet"

On my system, the key was not there, until I reset my browser as default.

Windows 7, reset IE as the default program....search 'default programs'.

ended up changing the reg keys to force default browser.

This fixed the issue!
