requirement for vm other server destination

I am trying to restore a drive from vm1 in datacenter1 to vm2 in datacenter 2.

Following the manual I can get all the way to step 12 of selection destination.

(and yes vm2 is the same os, and is turned off, and we added a E drive to it for the restore)

so we drill down into vcenter to datacenter 2 and choose vm2 and say ok.

takes us back to our screen that shows the drive and our destination, but when we click here - it does not do anything.

does anybody know if there is a requirement for the destination vm to be in the same datacenter?

Hello,

It is possible to restore across datacenters (that is, use a proxy deployed in one datacenter to restore files to a virtual machine in another datacenter), restores will take noticeably longer than if the proxy and the target virtual machine are both located in the same datacenter. Therefore, for best performance, deploy at least one proxy on eachdatacenter you are protecting.

If you need more details on this, then it would be better to open a Service Request for the same.

Thanks.
