static route for dedicated replication in avamar

Hi,

setting dedicated replication between the two avamar grids  is as below :-

Source Avamar Details (gen4t, single node , 7.4 version )kyagbtsava2-util

Target Avamar Details(gen4t, single node, 7.4 version)kysvltsava1-util

bond0 (for backup/management traffic) :- (IP :- 10.240.200.51, subnet mask :- 255.255.254.0 , gw :- 10.240.200.1)
bond2 (for replication only) :- (IP :- 10.240.200.52, subnet mask :-
255.255.254.0 , gw :- 10.240.200.1)

bond0 (for backup/management traffic) :- (IP :- 10.240.84.46 , subnet mask :- 255.255.252.0 , gw :- 10.240.84.1)
bond2 (for replication only) :- (IP :- 10.240.84.52, subnet mask :-
255.255.252.0 , gw :- 10.240.84.1)

  • Customer has given two IP’s from same subnet and gateway for the bond0 and bond2 traffic in each source and target avamar.
  • when we test the communication between the two grids using the command avmgr logn --hfsaddr=10.240.84.52 --id=repluser --ap=9RttoTriz --noconfig --debug --encrypt=ssl  that got failed with error initial handshake failed.
  • Customer has already checked with his network/firewall team confirmed me that there is no firewall between the hosts i.e. kyagbtsava2-util and kysvltsava1-util.  so they should be able to talk each other without any issue.
  • Customer asked me that if we can put any static route in the hosts so that they can talk to each other  without any issue. I tried that , when I put static route for bond2 only the two grids talk to each other on that IP  but the management or bond0 are not able to talk. When I fix the route for bond0 the bond2 does not respond between the two grids.
  • When proper route is put between for any interface (bond0/bond2) the two avamar grids can  talk to each other on ports 28001/29000.

please let me know incase there is any way to put static route in this scenario to configure dedicated replication in avamar

thanks,

Chandan
