VMWare Snapshot is not removed!

Hello,

We are using Avamar 5.0.2.41 to do VMWare Image backup on ESX 4.0 Update 1 VCenter Update 1.

Our problem is that Avamar creates a Snapshot for each VM when it does the backup. Usually this backup is removed after the backup finishes but our problem is that for some virtual machines the Snapshot is not removed and keeps accumulating!!

I attached an example of what is happening. We use the option --x22 = 8192.

We don't know yet why the snapshots do not get removed. Anyone has ideas about what can be done in this situation? Any troubleshooting idea would be appreciated =)

Hi,

The SnapShot is atomatically removed.

Its Avamar Client our Avamar Proxy have a problem of the communication with Avamar Server?

This error occurs when there are problems of the communication....

Now, remove the snapshot yourself.

Test again.

PS:

This version not use --x22 = 8192

* I recomend this ambient for you:

VMWare vSphere 4 Update 2 (build 258672)

Avamar Server 5.0.2.41

Avamar VM Proxy 5.0.105-169

Thank you Hormigo. I removed the snapshot and now it's recycling snapshots by itself. I still have to use the --x22 = 8192 switch because I'm still on ESX 4.0 U1. But it's removing the snapshot now.

Cheers
