can standalone CIFS Server user use ftp ?
Hi experts,
We need to use ftp on Celerra.We created user name on the standalone CIFS server. Can we use the same user name for ftp and logon to the directory which is the CIFS share?
What is the correct method to archive this goal? How to set the file access permissions?
Thanks in advance.
Ray

But now have another problem,I listed the files on this ftpsite on my IE brower with the URL: ftp://datamover_ip/ftpfolder_name, the contents are confused as below format:
File name
================================
drwxrwxrwx1011 22062040905 2206204417
....
All file name or folder name are unreadable!
How to resolve this problem? Thanks!

just ftp ?
or sharing the data with CIFS or NFS clients ?
what do you otherwise use for authentication ?
