Celerra datamover CPU and memory monitoring using SNMP
I have successfully configured MRTG to query and graph our datamovers for network stats. I however also want to query for other important performance indicators like cpu, memory etc but so far I don't see how I can do that.
/usr/bin/snmpwalk -v1 -c server_2
only shows network interface and network protocol related information. Any Ideas ? Thanks!

And how do you integrate that with MRTG ?

I apoligize, but we do not have any documentation on integrating this with MRTG. I would recommend engaging the MRTG vendor for assistance with configuring their product with different devices.
Thank you.

It's not a question about MRTG but SNMP. Can the datamovers provide CPU and memory utilization over SNMP ?

Hi,
as you've seen in the snmpwalk the data mover CPU and memory isnt implemented in the data mover SNMP agent.
Please take a minute and let EMC product management know via Product Enhancement Request (Powerlink) that this should be enhanced.
You might be able to hack the control station snmpd to call the CLI and get the info that way or get MRTG to ssh into the Celerra or get the info via XML

Rainer,
I will test collecting via XML, how CPU intensive is the XML collect process? I this something I can run every 5 minutes without major impact on the control station ?

Sorry – no idea
I don’t think 5 minutes is a problem though
Let us know how you did it

Dynamox,
I just read your post. Did you ever implement CPU and Memory graphing with MRTG ?
