CIFS migration and DFS
I have two existing Win 2003 servers. One holds the /Users share and the other holds /Groups. Each is rather large ~2TB. I recently created a CIFS VDM and added it to the Domain and want to know the best way to copy the data over while retaining all of the directories, shares, security attributes ect...
These two shares are pointed to via DFS roots.
Am I able to copy over the data using EMCOPY and then change the DFS pointer? I would like to do this as seamlessly as possible. Any advice would be appreciated

It depends on whether or not you can take the servers down for an extended period of time. If you can, you can use the EMC Windows Migration Tools (emcopy, lgdup, and sharedup) to migrate the local groups, shares, security descriptors, and finally, the data.
If you can't keep the servers down for the duration of the time that you'll be copying, you can use CDMS (Celerra Data Migration Service). Instructions for using both the migration tools and CDMS are in the documentation set, the CD of which is downloadable via Powerlink:
Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Support > Celerra Network Server > General Reference
