Did you replicate a vdm and its FS or only a fs?

That explains your permission issue.

Peter,

what is it that gets replicated with vdm that affects NTFS permission ? I thought ACLs reside on the file system. Does it have anything to do with usermapper entries on source and target celerra ?

Local groups reside at the Data Mover (or VDM) level. Usermapper may be affected, but for existing users, the secmap database resides at the Data Mover root. Also, if they are using (NT-style) share permissions (rather than 2000+ style file/folder permissions), those are not resident in the data file system either, they would have to be re-created on the destination should there not be VDMs in place.
