creating checkpoints for the NDMP backup

Hello everyone!

I 'm working little toward service improvement for the customer . Right now, I 'm in the process of configuring NDMP backup to netbackup for the celerra 704G .

This celerra has  existing shares( Cifs / iscsi ).In order to bring it to the backup rotation , i 'm thinking of getting this backed up from integrated checkpoint to tape.

For this i need to create checkpoints for all the existing file systems. Is there there any alternative just in case?

Also,creating a point in time copy for these should not exponentially increase the SaVvol space.

This is the pool info i 've:

***ID 41 is using iscsi , which doesn't 've  space.

I know SaVvol use space from the pool (e.g, clar_r5_performance=~4TB). so, in case my file system which is of 1 TB and doesn't have much space whill not interfere with cretion of snasure.please correct me if i 'm wrong.

My question is , can i bring those Iscsi users to backup rotation where the saVvol in this case will be from my performance pool?

It has a 2TB lUn and free space available is approx 5GB.

Also, backing up will be done through LAN , will it be helpful to use checkpoints for these purpose.

Any expert guidance here will be very much appreciated.
