DFS on Celerra > DFS Links case sensitive?
Dear Folks,
I got 2 file servers implemented on a celerra. Now I want to implement a domain based DFS (Distributed File System) namespace with those two servers as "root servers". While implementing the namespace I'll have to allocate some namespace folders a "target" using a UNC Address, for example \\server1\folder1.
My question is: Are these addresses case sensitive or insensitive? Would the cellera find the server and folder even if I wrote the address like this: \\ServeR1\FoldeR1?
I hope you understand my issue. If not please feel free to ask!
Regards,
Markus H.

Hi Markus,
I havent tried it but I dont think they are since both DNS and CIFS share names arent case sensitive.
Just keep in mind - if you create DFS servers on the Celerra they are standalone DFS servers and not domain-based DFS servers.
domain based DFS servers get created in the Active Directory - standalone in the CIFS servers config
