Disks

hi,

we presented some data luns to the celerra . They are all empty luns and presented from DMX4 . I just wanted to delete these luns from the celerra so i did unmap and it ran successful . But when i ran nas_disk -list on the celerra i still see the data luns . Do i need to do anything.

Thanks,

from the man page of nas_disk:
Unless -perm is specified, the disk is still identified as a Celerra disk
and can be discovered and marked again using server_devconfig.

The disks should be deleted from the Celerra first using nas_disk -d xxx -p and then unmasked.
If you do it the other way round, you still have to clean up the Celerra Config (nas_disk -d xxx) AND you will run into issues if these devices are presented to a Powerpath host (se Primus emc37687

typically you do this before you remove devices:

nas_disk -delete -perm

when you run "nas_disk -l" ..you will see your devices with corresponding symdev id that you unmapped. So the ones you unmapped you will need to delete, this way that "address" can be re-used again once you present new devices.

i already unmapped those devices from the FA ports. there are some 300 disks presented on celerra. so do i need to run the delete command for each disk. How does it work. When i use -perm option can i use this disks again for future use.
