file lock issue

Question

I am having an issue on version 5.6.37-6. Some files are not releasing until i close them manually from open files in computer management. This causing problems with a database software. It states people have the file open when the user has already closed out.

Yes i have. I put a ticket in. I didn't see any release notes that would lead me to believe that will gix the issue. Thanks

since 5.6.37 is about 1.5 years old - have you thought about upgrading ?

well - there are sometimes changes that arent in the release notes or a bug fix adresses something without mentioning all the possible scenarios

As a workaround you could also try to set the CIFS idletimeout to a lower value
