Hi,

The S/N for the DM's are on file /nas/log/data_mover_resume.server_X.xml, where X is the DM slot number.

For example :
# cat /nas/log/data_mover_resume.server_2.xml |grep EMC_SERIAL_NUMBER |head -1
EMC_SERIAL_NUMBER="CF2TT072300019 "

Just please, don't edit this files.

Thanks for the clarification - as you have seen, Gustavo had already provided you the CLI trick to get the serial number of each data mover - so, you have the answer :) Please note this is the serial number of each data mover (or blade) - not the data mover enclosure.

Also, you may consider using Celerra Manager GUI - go to "Inventory" and select each component item that you need the serial number and go to its Property page.

Thanks,
Sandip

Typically you don't need the serial number of a data mover - rather the serial number of the enclosure (chasis) is needed.

/nas/sbin/serial command shows you the serial number of the very first data mover enclosure - which is also the TLA (Top Level assembly) Serial number of the Celerra - the entire Celerra can be identified by this serial number.

Please feel free to revert back, if you need more details.
Thanks,
Sandip
