Restore large filesystem.

We have a filesystem of 12TB size in Celerra. Backup is taking long time, its okay. But I am worried of restore incase of crash. It may take atleast more than a day to restore. Is there is any quick method to restore. Please let me know and Thanks in advance.

nothing special there - restore time will depend both on the amount of data and the number of files
typically a restore takes at least as long as a backup - with lots of very small files it might take longer

the quickest restore would be a full restore from a NDMP VBB (volume block level) backup since we dont have to spend the time creating files and directories there

are you using SnapSure ? While it's not considered your "traditional" backup, if virus or a user causes havoc on the file system, you can almost instantaneously recover to most recent snapshot. If file system gets corrupted or worth Celerra melts down ..then you don't' have a choice but to go to tape.
