Support for Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS)

Question

Hi,
I have a Celerra NS352 appliance and I need to know if recent firmware version introduced support for Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) on CIFS shares and on iSCSI LUNs.
VSS was not supported in firmware version I have now.

I can't help you with the appliance firmware question (sorry), but with both versions of NAS code I've been running (5.5.21.4 and 5.5.25.2) on my NS502G, this feature has been available on windows clients (XP Pro SP2), and the previous versions tab reflects the snapsure checkpoints I've been taking.

Sorry I mean 'Shadow Copies of Shared Folders' feature introduced with Microsoft 2003 R2: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/overview/scr.mspx

what DART version are you running ?Support for SCSF client - the previous versions tab showing changed files in Celerra checkpoints has been available for quite a while.I think it was introduced in 5.3 sometime in 2004
