Hi,

NAS 5.6.46 is fully supported with Windows 2008 domains. The CIFS servers will act as Windows 2003 member servers.

Hello Gustavo,

Sorry for getting back to late. Well I am not sure about this. I called EMC support and they told me that it wont work, you need to upgrade the code on your NAS devices to version to atleast 5.6.42. I was not pretty sure about that, but I am still looking to get some work around or I would probably would go for an code upgrade, as when I went to emc primus 236260, it said DART 5.5 will work with 2008 Domain Controller but i have to down grade the security features to NT4, which stop most of the important security and add on features of 2008 domain controller. Right now I am on DART 5.5. So I think I need to upgrade the code on my NAS devices.

Thank You

Hi,

You need an upgrade on the 5.5. code. It's also EOSL ( End Of  Support Life ).

You need to request an upgrade from an EMC representative. Please, open a support ticket for that.

There is a tool for customer's use, but only on 6.0 code.

Hi Gustavo,

Well I have 2 NAS devices in my environemt, one of them is sitting on 5.6.46 so for that I have no issues, but other NAS device is sitting on 5.5.30-5, which we use as short time archive for most of our application.

As I have never done a code upgrade on NAS device, is it some thing I can do? And I was looking for the code on Powerlink, but couldnt found one. Is it some thing that I need to contact CE or support to get one?

Thank You

Rama

Hi,

The CE must go onsite and upgrade your system.
