Default Pool / Anonymous Access

We have an old application which the developer tells us cannot be changed at this point therefore it will only use anonymous access to write files (pre 2.3 SDK I believe).

If I create a pool say OLDAPPPOOL and set this as the default home directory for anonymous access will the files written by the application be written to this pool or will they still be redirected to the Centera system default pool ?

Thanks in advance

This should work. You will need to ensure that the anonymous profile has granted rights to the default pool to ensure that the application can read already written content.

Be aware that the anonymous profile is a system default profile and as such settings may change after performing CentraStar upgrades.

You can also use pool mapping to map content from the default pool to the new pool for pool capacity reporting.

Thanks Dennis.  Thats what I wanted to hear.  The app is a PACS system which is currently approaching 6TB on an old creaky IBM array which we want to bin.  Migrating this data to the Centera will solve a lot of problems for us.  The only other app which we use the Centera for is Celerra archiving via Rainfinity.

Thanks again (I'll let you know how we get on)
